Today I delivered "Window on Bodie" to the California Watercolor Association for inclusion in the 40th Annual Exhibition at the Presidio in San Francisco. The show opens on March 18, 2009. I am delighted that my painting was juried into this prestigious show and am looking forward to sharing the experience with family, friends, and all those friends I have yet to meet! Something wonderful and memorable always happens at watercolor exhibitions, so I'm also very curious about what the future has in store. Maybe it will be blogworthy...... Hey, did I just invent a new word?

With this post, I am officially blogging, something a very private person like me thought I would never do, but this is so easy and fun! Maybe I can share a little joy with you, inspire you to try something new, or possibly sell you a giclee, a painting, or arrange for a commission. I am delighted to have you follow along and enjoy the journey!

Ah, the gorgeous cypress tree on Scenic Road near the end of 8th Avenue in Carmel..... This is the source photo for my first painting of 2009 entitled "Steadfast," which is now finished. The painting is a commissioned gift for a special someone who will receive the painting in late spring. I will post a picture next week after it is scanned, so please check back to see the painting!
